Summer Concert Outfits and Where to Wear Them

Summer Concert Outfits and Where to Wear Them

Posted by Kendall Schmitz on Jun 3rd 2022

Undoubtedly, one of the best parts of summer is the concerts. Care-free vibes are the essence of the season, and nothing embodies a good time more than live music. In Denver, we’re fortunate to have a slew of great venues to choose from. No matter what genre you’re into, there will be a steady stream of exciting live events to attend in the coming months. And what better occasion is there than a concert to get adventurous and have fun with your wardrobe?! Today, I’m going to share with you some of the events I’m most excited about, and what I plan to wear to each venue.

Red Rocks Amphitheater

I’m embarrassed to admit it, but I’m going on 5 years living in Denver, and I still haven’t been to a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater. (I’m going to blame the pandemic. I’ve hiked Red Rocks, just haven’t seen a concert there.) That will soon be changing though, because on June 6th I’ll be seeing Whiskey Meyers, and couldn’t be more excited. For country music at a beautiful outdoor venue, I’m going to want an airy bohemian look. We’ve nicknamed this dress “The Stevie Nicks Dress”, and it’s perfect for the occasion. I’ll be pairing the dress with boots and loose, wavy hair.

Mission Ballroom

When I learned Bright Eyes would be performing at Mission Ballroom on June 30th, my teenage emo heart was bursting with joy. Having seen the band as a teenager, and frontman Conor Oberst’s solo act, I haven’t yet missed an opportunity to see one of my all-time favorites. For this look, I’d need to channel my inner indie-cool girl. This airy wrap blouse is one of my absolute new favorite pieces. The contemporary update on retro-looking polka dots makes them much more wearable. Paired with black skinny jeans and a bold red lip, you get a look that is classic, effortless, and cool.

The Gothic Theater

One of my favorite venues for punk/rock shows is The Gothic. On June 4th, punk legend FEAR is performing, and I plan to add some femininity to an edgier look. This has quickly become my go-to outfit for any event that’s likely to be on the rowdy side. I love the bouncy skirt, because in reality, it’s not a skirt at all - it’s a SKORT!! Super cute, and concert-goer approved for jumping around in. Combat boots and a cool T-shirt complete the look.

From all of us at Decade, have fun, stay safe, and stay hydrated this summer!!
